step 1. FINDING A
DOMAIN NAME

Your
website really begins with the name you give it and it is quite
important to get this right since this is how everyone on the
internet will find your website. The name you choose for your
website is made up of two parts. The first is known as the Top Level
Domain or TLD for short. We currently offer several TLD’s for
registration including .com, .co.uk and more.
The second part of your domain name is the name you choose to go
before the TLD. Currently there are many hundreds of thousands of
domains registered so finding the right one can be tricky.
Registering your domain name with us though is quite simple. Our
online tools will let you know if your domain name is available or
not and will even offer helpful suggestions.
step 2. selecting a hosting package

Before
you can have a website – you need a place to put it. Our web hosting
service ensures that your site remains accessible 24 hours a day –
everyday. Our service is fully equipped to handle the growth of your
website as well - ensuring that you can continue your operation with
no interruptions in service.
When you select a hosting package you should generally look for one
that has enough space to handle the growth of your site for the next
1 -2 years. Unless you are adding online video and flash movies to
your site, you will generally find that a good estimate of your
usage will be 250Kb per page. If your site is quite small (up to 100
pages), this means that you will use roughly 25Mb. Our smallest
package comes with 1000Mb - enough space to place your website on
over 40 times.
step 3. GETTING A DESIGN FOR YOUR WEBSITE

Now
that your website has a home on the web, its time to start thinking
about how it looks. You can either have a chat with one of our
custom web designers - who will create the real world design from
your vision - or you can choose from hundreds of beautifully
designed templates which you can have us customise for you.
When the design is finalised, your content is added and Voila! -
your website is complete.
step 4. ADDING FUNCTIONALITY TO YOUR WEBSITE

You
may also want to add certain features such as registration pages and
administration areas to your website. These features usually require
some programming and database work to implement and can add
substantial benefits to your website. For example, by adding a login
area for your customers, you can easily communicate new products and
services to them, gain important feedback and streamline your
business operations. Whatever functionality you envision, our
dedicated team of developers can create.
step 5. MAINTAINING AND UPDATING YOUR WEBSITE

Once
your site is complete, you may notice small changes that you wish to
make or areas of your site that you wish to update. Every good
website owner knows that they must frequently update their site to
keep the content current. The problem with small infrequent updates
is that they can add significantly to the cost of running a website.
Wicked Internet offers several maintenance packages which allow you to
keep your content fresh while keeping costs low - our smallest
maintenance package starts at only £2.99 per month!
